Community Guide

Rosedale

Surrounded by beautiful ravines, peaceful parks, and stunning homes, Rosedale, Moore Park has been one of Toronto’s most sought-after neighbourhoods for over 100 years. Home to many of the city’s most affluent and prominent residents, this community is just minutes away from the area’s top schools, shops, and restaurants.

Rosedale-Moore Park is known for its many excellent public and private schools. These include the exclusive all-girls school, Branksome Hall, Rosedale Heights School of the Arts, Whitney Junior Public School, and Rosedale Public School, which is across the street from Rosedale’s community centre, Mooredale House.

Held every May for over 70 years, the local Mayfair spring festival consists of rides, games, vendors, and more family-friendly fun. This neighbourhood is also home to Evergreen Brickworks, which hosts farmers’ markets and community events while also featuring a number of trails for hiking and biking. For shopping and dining, many residents will head to the nearby neighbourhoods of Yorkville or Yonge and Eglinton.

As a residential community, Rosedale-Moore Park sees low traffic through the neighbourhood itself, aside from locals. The neighbourhood is just west of the Don Valley Parkway and only minutes to TTC stations along lines 1 and 2, the closest being St Clair, Summerhill, Bloor-Yonge, Sherbourne, and Castle Frank stations.

You’ll see a range of Victorian, Georgian, Tudor, and Edwardian-style mansions throughout the Rosedale neighbourhood, most of which were built between 1860 and 1930. In South Rosedale, you’ll find a number of condos, apartment buildings, and newer townhomes, while Moore Park comprises duplexes and multiplexes. Homebuyers flock to Rosedale for the charm and character of the homes, many of which are listed on the Toronto Historical Board’s Inventory of Heritage Properties.
